Dumugurra, meaning “Kookaburra,” is a harmonious embodiment of the Australian landscape, designed to integrate seamlessly with its native environment. Approaching from the southern side, the striking rammed earth façade acts as a protective barrier and architectural expression of unity with the land.
Inside, Dumugurra connects profoundly to its surroundings with expansive glazing and verandahs that blur boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. Glass sliding doors provide access from every room to the exterior, while the living room features a curved glass window, framed by a window seat and balanced by the fireplace. This design captures sweeping vistas and creates a space for contemplation and connection with the landscape.
