Nestled into its native Australian landscape Dumugurra “meaning Kookaburra” is a fitting tribute to the land and its natural environment. Approaching the home from the south you are greeted by its outreaching rammed earth façade inverted to the adjacent roadway. This monolithic feature provides protection, seclusion and an earth form connection to the land.
Dumugurra is not only connected to the landscape externally, but its interior is also an extension of the natural environment. This is achieved with extensive glazing, continuous verandahs and external glass sliding doors featured from every internal space. The custom-made curved glass window in the living room is founded by a window seat and framed by the fireplace and outreaching views, this magical space offers many perspectives on life.
